you forgot federal cutbacks as well (as soon as all this stimulus has become passe). This is just the beginning.....

Typical political pose and maneuver scenario. "11th hour rescue" is exactly what will happen. MTA lobs doomsday stories to local media to cause outcry with riders, who in turn cry to their local pols. Big Daddy NYS coughs up the funds after pressure from elected officials who fear losing their jobs.
Why do we bother with this entire charade? I'd rather read about Tiger Woods and Octo-mom.
