I'm going to jump in here just because this is the Parc Vendome, my old building, and we kept our condo there when we moved.

1) this unit isn't in the 333 building, it's in the 353 building. It's always worth doublechecking electronic data.

2) If prices have declined citywide about 20-25% from peak, then we can call peak for a unit like this -- a jumbo studio condo with an additional breakfast room, and another room that can serve as an office or a windowless bedroom -- at about the mid-$600s. The idea that a post-crash sale is only 5% off that shows 1) that the broker (from Corcoran, not my firm) did a good job and 2) quality pays. Good buildings hold their worth better in down markets than mediocre buildings do.

or...just possibly...in a less than perfect market...that the new purchaser made a mistake.
