Discussion about Toren at 150 Myrtle Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn
Does anyone know what implications will come to the Toren's apartments views if City Point does go up? It looks like City Point is planned to go up across the street from Toren, where they now call "one dekalb". When I visited Toren and asked the broker what was going to go on that empty lot, they told me it was going to be a park-so i did some research and it looks like it may be a 70-story tall "park"?? (ok maybe not 70-story but it sounds like it may be way taller than Toren). Does anyone have any good knowledge on the issue? Thanks in advance!

thanks fayek!
looks like eventually it will be 65 stories high- as is the goal of the project. the first phase will be 4-5 stories. if/when it goes up 65 stories, it may even block sky views from anyone around!
that was the original building. last information i got (search brownstoner) is that the building is re-scaled to 17 floors.
City Point was under construction, then halted. Apparently the stimulus funds helped it. But, yes, plans were scaled down severely.
Flatbush is in desperate need of non-ghetto retail, so any bit will help. At least they got rid of the ghetto mall.
