Discussion about
I am going to take a look this weekend at the bath showrooms that others have graciously pointed out to me. I had previously tried to look on kohlers website for store locations that had their shower doors but most stores only allowed me to order them sight unseen. I ended up ordering some online: a Kohler sliding glass door with 3/8" thick glass doors. They are called frameless but I guess there... [more]

I have the euro-style made-in-china "half" shower doors for the one tub that we use for both bathing & showering. http://www.lineaaqua.net/shop/Shower-Door-Tub-Screen-c-310.html.

They don't do as good a job of keeping the floor dry as the traditional sliding doors but they are MUCH better-looking. I have had them installed for 3 years, and no issues - other than having to be careful while showering and the silicon door sweep comes out every now and then.

I like the accordion-fold glass door too, but my contractor is against it - he thinks I'll have water all over the floor at the other (unprotected) end of the tub. (It's a corner tub, not set in an alcove.)

When you say "they don't do as good a job of keeping the floor dry" do you mean that the door itself leaks, or that you get water on the floor at the doorless end of the tub, or both?

I was also looking at something like this http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/DreamLine-Aqua-Frameless-Tub-Door/3478240/product.html which extends slightly further along the tub (4 ft. rather than 3 ft.), though I'd probably need it to hinge inward, not outward.

Any other suggestions? I hate shower curtains.

Would it be possible to fit one of these across a bath as I have high ceilings (old house) and want to fill the space.

Thanks,
