Discussion about
If there is a building worker's strike, do you think it would be appropriate for a renters to receive a reduction in rent if for the period where building services are diminished? If so, how would you think about the appropriate amount of the reduction?

Rental building, or condo/coop? For the former, certainly. For the latter, you might want to let it slide depending on the duration. The appropriate amount would be the difference in amount paid to the workers, divided appropriately amongst the apartments. I.e., the strike should not be profitable for the LL.

Some leases specifically have provisions saying that there's no recourse for tenants in the case of a strike. Actually might be a lot of leases.
