Get rid of stand-up shower?

Discussion about
Anyone have insight to the desirability of keeping a separate standup shower in the bathroom? I'm buying a 1BR coop in Riverdale, and the average-sized bathroom has both a tub (with shower head), as well as a separate standup shower stall. I'm considering closing off the separate shower stall and creating additional closet space (or possibly a washer/dryer connection, pending board approval), since the shower stall needs, at a minimum, new shower faucets and tiling. Or would future buyers possibly find this a highly desirable feature? Or is the consensus neutral?

People LOVE separate shower stalls in addition to a bathtub. More points for side sprays; points off if the stall is too tiny.

I would much prefer the washer/dryer to a stand up shower.

I 100% agree with #5. As long as you replace it with a washer/dryer go for it. Otherwise I would leave it alone.

Also agreed - washer/dryer would be way better than an extra shower.

Another vote for washer/dryer vs shower. Heck, I'd even prefer the extra closet space option over the shower.

its a 1 BR coop in Riverdale for christ sake. You're thinking way too much here. I would do minimal renovations to a unit like that. your potential buying pool for 1 BRs in Riverdale, you will not be compensated properly for such a renovation.
