Discussion about
I am looking to buy an apartment in Brooklyn. I have already seen a couple places that I am interested in, without being represented by a broker, and I want to research the apartments further. (I am a first-time buyer so I am a bit nervous about doing all the research on my own.) Could I hypothetically get a broker at this point to represent me on those properties that I found on my own? I've already been in some email contact with the sellers's brokers. Thanks in advance.
do not hire a broker for those units. get a broker for different units that they find for you. Brokers are almost useless these days if you have 5 minutes to look through listing sites. Get a good lawyer to help you with the contract stage with the units that you found yourself.

What Jasieg 16 is saying is partialy true. It is much easier to use a broker than not. We advise you, we help with the board packages, including letters to the board if required and in negotiating. This is pretty stressful stuff. Jasieg is right when he says you can look-up listings on the internet, we all do. but having the guidance of an experienced broker is alway useful. The seller pays or the developer pays our commission.
Tsk, tsk, Lisa.
I believe that the sales office or the listing broker could not agree with Lisa, go check with them first..

Just don't get a broker from Prudential Douglas Elliman.
They are IDIOTS.
