Discussion about
Hi Everybody, Does anyone know the actual boundries of the Brooklyn Hieghts Landmark District? If you do know can you provide a reference to that. I would rather not depend on an answer thats coming from just "common knowledge". Looking to buy at 85 livingston but not sure if it is actually outside the boundries (streeteasy map says it is). Thanks

Downtown Brooklyn. Not even close. Forget the historic district, its not even marginal BH.

Its on the other side of court street.

Its CLEARLY downtown.

You have federal buildings on all sides.

Thats the most accurate one I've seen in a while. I've always said court, but, absolutely, them cutting off the court/clinton sections of montague, etc. makes perfect sense, as those buildings are definitely of the downtown variety (the big tower, the mega commerce bank, the other banks, etc.)

I still laught at the guy who said that 110 livingston wasn't really downtown.

are there any condos available for purchase in the historic district? I love BH and particularly the nice tree-lined brownstone-laden area but would like to find a condo... Is this possible? also, what are prices in this prime BH area ? Are they like manhattan prices or significantly cheaper? thanks

Sorry, no condos in Brooklyn Heights.

It's either co-ops or townhouses.

There are a few new developments in Brooklyn Height's historic district: http://streeteasy.com/nyc/newdevs/brooklyn-heights-brooklyn/has_listings:0

Not in the historic district from the map:
One Brooklyn Bridge Park
Cobble Hill Mews
Schermerhorn Court

NYC MAtt is wrong.
In the 60 State Street and 322 Hicks St are condos- both buildings about five years old.
Tree lined streets and priced like Manhattan upwards of $1000 sq ft.
