Discussion about
We have a chocolate lab and are buying a condo with 15' by 8' terrace. Has anyone been successful with K9 grass so that your pet could do it "business" in case you couldn't walk it?

I know somebody who tried it. His dog refused to poop on it. You gotta walk your dog every day. They need the activity outside.

Check to see if anybody in your building has a dog-walker. You can send your dog out with them when you are unable to walk it yourself.

Truth, we live on a lake the other half of the week and the dog swims, runs free and has much exercise. This is for the times that we will not be able to walk her.

bds, You should check the by laws of the condominium, most specifically prohibit the terrace from being used in this manner.

This is really gross, I can't believe you'd even consider it.

Did you ever consider "collateral damage" from the wind?

bds: Sounds nice. Labs like to get out and walk. Check with your neighborhood dog-walker.

"This is for the times that we will not be able to walk her."

If there are times you are not "able to walk her", you shouldn't be caring for a dog in the first place.

Oh God, this is a loved cherished dog who swims and runs 1/2 the week. This is the odd time that this would happen. Give me a break

bds: I believe you're a good dog-owner.

The great thing about living in Manhattan with a dog, even part-time; is you can hire a dog-walker.
Of course there are times when you can't walk your dog. You're only human.

Man, there are some horrible neighbors out there. I'm not saying all the bad ones are pet owners, but its a damn high percentage.

Really? You plan to make your terrace a piss and crap location?

If it an "odd time", GO OUTSIDE. Call a walker. Ask a neighbor.

Seriously. Why does your laziness have to result in your neighbors sharing your feces?

Aside from anything else, I have heard that well trained dogs(like Labs) are loathe to use it. They will often hold it in to the point of pain before using it.
