Tune in to HGTV on Thursday, May 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, for "Selling New York," and see CORE's Michael Garr stake his claim as the "go to" agent for The Chelsea Mercantile, one of the city's most desirable buildings.
"Selling New York" is a new weekly series that gives viewers a glimpse inside the competitive NYC real estate market, where luxurious Manhattan properties are bought and sold.

I love HGTV but "Selling NY" has been a let down, a real bore- unless you are simply interested at taking a peek inside someones digs. The whole show is fluff and posturing. It would have been much more interesting if they had followed an actual buyer in the "House Hunters" format through the negotiations, bidding process. You lost me after 1.5 shows, so maybe it's gotten better? Anyone...?

There are over a dozen agents who work the Mercantile, are we going to have an agent-to-agent battle?

Dammit, I'm sick and tired of going through entire shows where nothing sells. Can someone actually sell something? Even the LA boys were able to put up some sales during the meager 2009 season. Plus, they had good drama. This damn show is beginning to feel like those taxi-cab RE ads. Someone needs to tell these NY brokers "Coffee's for closers only."

nada maybe we can sell "Battle of The brokers" to Fox? I know a lot of industry people and I'm also in pretty good shape for 46.

mechan, enough already; we all saw the show.
Ali, you're right about the lighting. That and the too-glossy floors make the eyes hurt. The A line does need all that wattage, though, tucked away as it is in an inside corner with hardly any windows.
Here's the A-line history. (Omitting 3A, which has a terrace, 4A for the super, and 12A with no deed.) Asking $2,745,000 for 8A is a stretch, but no harm in trying.

Worst show ever. Boring, obnoxious brokers. Bring on House Hunters - real property for real people.
Long live White Trash!
Wearing my writer hat, I thought Michael Garr (who I don't know) acquitted himself quite well.
I have a problem with that recessed lighting, though.
