Stupid question about using StreetEasy...

I'm new-ish to this site, and I have a question about how it works. Couldn't find an answer in the help section, so I'm asking here: Within the past few days I've found a couple of listings that I had questions about, so I clicked the "send a message to this agent" button and asked my question. My e-mail address is there, and I didn't ask to be kept anonymous, but I have not heard back from anyone. Am I doing something wrong (like do I need to put my contact info in the body of the message as well) or are they just not responding for whatever reason? I also can't figure out if their response would go straight to my regular e-mail or if there is an inbox on here somewhere that I'm supposed to check? Like I said, stupid question, but I can't figure it out! Thanks!

First of all, there are no stupid questions, only stupid people ;).

I have never tried contacting agents in that manner. I've always sent emails from my personal account and given some information about myself (e.g., timeframe), which think is better than doing it through some anonymous-ish setup. Last time I did it, I think I got a response rate of 80-90%, even from agents who said "we just signed the contract on that" and whatnot. Very professional. This was for condos / coops / townhouses, and pretty much all the agents and listings were exclusive rather than fishing expeditions you sometimes see.

It might also be the case that it is an extremely busy time of the year right now, so agents are somewhat innundated with requests.

I would put your contact info, both phone and email, in the message body. Among other things, this would make it a lot easier for a broker to respond to you from a smart phone instead of having to get to a computer.

It's not a stupid question. That's a busy feature and we monitor it carefully. We checked your messages. You sent four of them to three different agents. Each message was delivered in a few seconds.

Hi, I can not see the contact agent feature on StreetEasy? Where did it go?
