Discussion about
I've seen a bunch of craigslist ads about a new luxury rental that is opening July 1 in the West 30s. description: -Every Apartment with Recessed Wall Speakers -Built in iPod/MP3 Docking Stations in Living Room and Bedrooms! -Apartments have Solid Natural Oak Plank Flooring throughout -Asko Washers and Dryers in all One and Two Bedroom Apartments -Floor to Ceiling Windows Anyone know which building this is? I don't want to go through a broker, so I want to find the building on my own.
The "Floor to Ceiling Windows" tells me this is one of those very recent new constructions, a la Toll Brothers variety. Cheap and with thin party walls.
Here's your hint: Walk down West 37th.

I think it is a puzzle. Not a tough one though, and Ali, I think you have too much integrity to be messing with rentals.
This listing has purposeful but benign misleading information. If it's in the West 30s but actually on West 42nd, will you mind. If it says Asko washer / dryer but it is actually Bosch, will you mind? No. So the ad is misleading in a benign way so they can draw you in and "no harm, no foul", right? The Silver Towers seems to be the location.
But the brokers aren't charging, the building is paying, so please provide the "fallowing" information and call "fro" information (how's that for Harvard English)...

splaken, the 2nd link you posted shows the silver towers in the background of the building from the rooftop. it can't be silver towers.
Indeed it does and I may be wrong. But my point is that ads aren't always what you'd expect. You are dealing with people who can't even use Microsoft spell check.
aty3, any reason you aren't doing a bit of work on your own to figure this out?
I have been searching everywhere for it, but can't figure out what building this is.
Have you considered using your feet?
Since THIS particular puzzle, I mean building, is so important?
You sure you want to live here? Seems to have a history of construction problems.

splaken, I do rentals when I'm not too busy -- I've got a California relo coming in three weeks who I met off this board -- but you're right, I don't do a ton of them because they're a lot of work and don't pay that well.
Note, for instance, the OP, who doesn't want to pay *anything* for this information.
The building, however, does exist, and it's not Silver Towers.

I have seen these apartments and the owner pays brokers fee. So, in this instance using a broker won't cost any extra. That is why ads appear to be misleading. Give me a call and I will show (718) 413-6825.
After all we are rendering a service and do need to be paid. Like any other professional (doctor, lawyer dentist etc...) Like them, we have overhead and rent/mortgage to pay.
Op is a complete jerkoff. "I don't want to use a broker....the onsite agents at this building AND silver towers work for a huge brokerage...
Nice building by the way.
ali I was wrong. I was just rather suspicious, though now I'm actually suspicious of the true motives of the OP, given that he could have just used a broker and the bulding would have paid the fee, as is typical for the new developments out attracting new tenants.
funnicole83 brokers may be rendering a service, but the service is here to the landlord, so the fee should be paid by the landlord. And having a mortgage or living expenses doesn't entitle you to someone else's money.
