What is a Troll?
An Internet troll is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually "he") tries to start arguments and upset people. It's ALL about "Getting Attention", and negative attention is as good as positive attention to a troll.

Trolls see Internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game. For some reason, they don't get that they are hurting real people. To them, other Internet users are not quite human but are a kind of digital abstraction. As a result, they feel no sorrow whatsoever for the pain they inflict. I wouldn't post your suspicions on the public forum but I would share them with SE management and if possibly with legal authorities. liz, i can only assume that at least some of the people who read this board already know his real identity. i will certainly not be a tool for any authority to track down a person who posted some things i didn't like on the internet. he doesn't go after everyone, only the regulars who can take it. anyway, silly to have mentioned it, it probably wasn't even him
