Discussion about
I need somewhat ornate, smallish stone table and some seating. Besides the good flower stores, does anybody know a source? Thanks to all.

Odegarde has some very upscale stone tables

http://www.leoncini-italy.com/tables.htm

you can buy the table top from them, then just get a base here. They have both stone and ceramic tables. I have a ceramic top, cover it in winter and it has survived perfectly. They have a lot of different patterns, not all of which are on the website. They'd probably send you some more extensive brochure if you were interested.

Oh, but NWT - so much more fun to buy it in San Gimignano, choosing the exact size, pattern and colors you want. Especially after a wonderful Italian lunch.

But, the brochure is the next best way.

There is a fancy open air store on Elizabeth Street, next to 211 Elizabeth, that has stone benches, French marble mantels and gates. It would probably less pricy upstate or in Pennsylvania.

Thanks to all!
maly, that one is really $$$$$, and the quality isn't all that, and the delivery charges are just idiotic. Cheeper to buy anywhere else and have it delivered.
ph41, I don't want ceramics. I had this "dilapidated royal garden" thing in mind.
NWT, right. Getting it from there to here is problematic.
Thanks again.

Yes, very expensive. I thought maybe you were a millionaire and couldn't find exactly what you wanted at Urban Archeology.
I wouldn't recommend a stone bench and stone table. First of all, these things weigh tons, so hard to adjust. My husband and I built a stone bench for my mother out of a broken mantelpiece. We buried and angled the sides so they provided a level support, and put the mantel on the front end. Add a side metal picnic table, and it will look suitably fin-de-siècle.
Broken bits can be cheap; try Eddie on Gates and Classon (or Cambridge?) in Clinton hill.

maly, it's for esthetic purpose only; I wouldn't mind paying the price of something I love but in that store I love nothing to justify the price.

I agree with ph41: if you have the $ & time, go to Italy, partic Florence, you can buy gorgeous stuff there & they ship to the US.

You may wish to explore "cast stone" companies. Many are high end fabricators. Tables, however, are somewhat more limited in terms of variety than urns, columns, fountains and statues of the four seasons. Haddonstone is an established source: http://www.haddonstone.com/Default.aspx
