WhoTF did not see this coming? I'm not surprised. I predict a serious downturn given the public's opinion away from helping anyone anymore. Financially, there is no more compassion in the populous. It's back to eat what you kill.

No more ir games, no more tax credits... Let's see where NYC re goes this fall. The stupid money has all been spent.

The leader of the regime hates capitalism; but the regime's leader and his wife are living as if they are Louis the 14. ( With the capitalist's tax reciepts). People are suffering. The community organizer said "we all need shared sacrifice", except for the regime. The leader's wife is at a 5 star hotel in Spain(60 room 2500 a night). Kobe beef and parties at the White House every night. 14 trillion daollars in debt.

i am pretty sure our leader had enough money to do this before he become our leader. so he is entitled to do as he pleases. and most of this country's money was spent well before he became our leader. tax cuts and wars for everyone!!!

you cant end a war overnight. it doesnt work that way. but he should not be sending more troops to Afghanistan. I am not implying that he is a great president. perhaps he is terrible. but that remains to be seen. If you have a problem with the economy in this country, you might want to look to his predecessor, or predecessors. I am not sure there is anything anyone could do, or could have done, given the economic mess that our leader inherited.

The leader never had any earned money. He lives off the top 1% taxpayers. He should be bowing to the top 1% instead of bowing to the saudi king.

So true!!! Basically if i had missed the whole election campaign, I wouldn't know Bush is not in power anymore. So much for "Change you can believe in!". By the way, I wrote that on the can we use to collect pocket change, and with an added "REALLY" for the copper and nickel ones. Oh yes, we have 2 different cans for coins :-). My husband gets a kick out of it each time he puts a coin.

The only group that approves of Obama as before are the african american, they are always going to be proud of him as he accomplished the unthinkable. But anyway, he's a good politician, the fact that he comes from a low income background is a breath of fresh air regardless of the fact that for practical purposes he ends up being as Bush.

I agree that the Obamas display a newly rich behavior, they were pretty tight for decades (even after the girls were born), so it's understandable imho.

I'd avoid display like the plague as we are under a long and deep recession. Michele Obama's fave hobby is to collect diamonds, so WhoTF did not see this coming?

We have to help the poor and working class. We need 'shared sacrifice' and the rich(you and me) must pay their 'fair share'. Everyone should and must lower their standard of living. We just want to make America fair. Enjoy your leaders liberals.

"mission accomplished" while one of the great gaffes of all time, was the Commander in Chief visiting the troops - clearly an official function.
The 1st lady prancing around the Costa del Sol on a vacation (from what, exactly, I'm not sure - the organic gardening?), spending millions of taxpayer dollars for security, etc. in these economic times is grotesque, and will go down as one of the several nails in the coffin of this Presidency.

finally - yes, spending was bad under Bush. This does not excuse the out of control borrowing of this admin - recall that Obama was voted in to repair the damage done by Bush, not to add to it. in case you haven't heard, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

its a f*cking speech. get over it. every politician makes one. bush was a compassionate conservative. remember? he bankrupted the country and is now somewhere on his ranch enjoying the quite life.
i am still trying to figure out what obama could have done differenty to get us out of this mess that bush created. i am not an economist, but i think the sh*t we are in is just too deep.

here's a stab: in the middle of the worst job losses in 50yrs, how about not ramming through legislation which makes hiring more expensive, creates massive unfunded liabilities, raises taxes, and imposes stultifying regulations on small and large businesses? Or coming up with a 'stimulus' that is anything but - its just a barely disguised method of pumping future taxpayer dollars into the hands of his special interests?

In time of recession the leaders should take their vacation inside their country in order to promote the economy of the US and not Spain.

exactly which legislation makes hiring more expensive? only thing i see is a tax credit to small businesses for hiring the unemployed.

the stimulus package should have been much larger. if there is one thing that i give bush credit for is that he wasnt a p*ssy. obama is. he caved into republican pressure and reduced the size of the stimulus. and more money should be going to building roads, bridges, trains, schools, hospitals. its in the stimulus bills. but just like everything else in this country, once the politicians get their hands on it (both parties), whats good for the people gets thrown out the window. and the money ends up in these scumbag's pockets.

i hate both parties. and i am not a staunch obama supporter. i just dont like the conversation in this country. we just suffered through 8 years of bush, and all of his supporters are now putting all the blame on obama. instead of going back and forth, we should be mad at all of them, and finally vote a 3rd party into power.

I should have been more clear - so much of what Obama has done is job destroying and bureaucracy expanding that I need to narrow it down - I refer to the Affordable (ahem) Care Act. You can't blame the bastardization of the stimulus solely on Pelosi/Reid - it was Obama's decision to leave it up to them. At the very height of his powers, just on the heels of his inauguration, with a massive Democrat majority, he could have pushed something more meaningful through. He chose not to. He knows enough to know that Congress would turn it into a porkfest. He did a horrendous job, and this should not be discounted.

And stop the '3rd Party' nonsense - show me a viable 3rd party, and why you think they'd be ANY different.

a viable 3rd party does not exist. i agree there. but thats only because the two major parties are much too strong. its impossible for any opposing party to collect enough money to gain traction. look at how much it costs to win an election. its becoming a joke.

and which part of the affordable care act makes it expensive to hire new employees? all i see is again, tax credits to small businesses for providing healthcare to employees.

No real job growth, continued entrenched unemployment, defunct housing market ----------------- the double dip is upon us.
Kudos to Reagan and ilk for giving away the store ....... and to Wall Street run rampant for nailing it home.
We are a banana republic now.

omg Michelle is retarded. Why on earth would do this before the Nov elections!?!?! it's great for the Republicans though, easy to use in the campaign:

"the democrats increase taxes cause they don't pay them. Ask for shared sacrifice while enjoying royal unnecessary vacations on your dime. Buy in America!? Does not apply to michele!"

The Obamas were supposed to vacation on the gulf during august to encourage tourism in the area. WhatTF was Michele thinking by going instead to Spain?

w67th, this is what i'm talking about, the "not likely":

"Mr. Hatzius said, “The prospect of substantial inflation seems very remote, but the prospect for deflation is far from remote. A double dip is certainly possible but not likely.” "
