Discussion about
I recently purchased and moved into a condo and am surprised and annoyed by the level of street noise that's audible inside. i'd like to improve my windows to block out more of the sound. can anyone recommend an effective and reliable service that will add resale value to my apartment?

There is a product called "window silencer" produced in China. It looks like a toothpaste and is available in most major hardware stores. Good luck!

There's also special windows you can have installed. I forget the name of the company but if you do a google search for noise-reducing windows you can find it.

My building had them installed a few years ago and they're amazing. Not cheap but worth it an add to the value of your home.

The name of the company is Citi-Quiet Windows. We had the windows installed and they worked great.

CityProof windows also offers the same type product. They are coming to my apt in 2 weeks to install mine? Does anyone have any experience with them?

Also keep in mind that if you are ever replacing your windows, you can have windows made which reduce noise and have the benefit of being a single unit, not an add on. Some people do complain that they are very heavy.

These windows all work the same way, they have a thick sandwich of a few layers of glass.

But if you want to hear less noise, you have to keep your windows 100% closed.

I'd rather just get used to the noise...
