Discussion about
I asked SE readers about that bright light in the night sky ("Look to the Eastern sky"). I saw it again last night, in the same place. I thought it might have been a star. It didn't move , and was gone several hours later. Now, Yahoo has the UFO over Manhattan Wed. topic trending in top place. Maybe they are here to get a good deal on N.Y.C. real estate? Hovering over Manhattan with their advanced technology, seeking out the hidden inventory.
I once had a friend named Camilla Costello. She was Abbott and Costello's daughter. She said to me, 'You know, Sylvia, I have a lot of friends, but you're my best friend.' I'm working here. I'm an intern at Creedmoor. I'm in the Pentecostal Church, but I'm thinking of changing my religion. I have a dog at home. I love instant oatmeal. When you have Jesus, you don't need a diet. Mick Jagger wants to marry me. I want to get out the revolving door. With Jesus Christ, anything is possible. I used to hit my mother. It was the hyperactivity from all the cookies I ate. I'm the personification of Casper the Friendly Ghost. I used to go outside asking the other kids to be my friend when I was little. California's the most beautiful state in the Union. I've been there once, by television. My name is Jack Warden, and I'm an actress.
Did anybody see those daytime UFO's over the West side on Wed.?
I think ah had a close encounter of the third kind. They may have beamed him up from his terrace.
Back to the discussion:
The FAA and 911 were getting calls from concerned citizens on Wed.
I logged on to SE to find out if anybody saw that bright light and could possibly identify it as a star.
ah got abducted.
The topic is all over the internet. T.V. news reports.
Any ideas from non-abductees about what it was?
This is the same pic that was in the NY Post.

Personally I think it was just some canadian geese who spent too much time in Newtown Creek
truthskr: The West side daytime Wed. UFO turned out to be some big white balloons that were launched by students doing a science experiment.
I'm still curious about that light in the eastern sky. Everyone that I called to look saw it and we can't figure out what star it may have been.
It wasn't Matt Damon, because he's over at 30 Rock about to go on their live show.
Clearly they were foreign investors not familiar with the local market in search for an open house.
Riversider: Yes- they wanted to buy now, so they wouldn't be priced out forever.
lol!!!!!
I saw a UFO -- a gigantic one -- over Manhattan a couple of years ago.
A few friends and I were walking up Eighth Avenue in Chelsea on a muggy July evening. There was no moon, and the night sky was overcast. As we crossed 18th Street, I happened to look up, and at first couldn't understand what I saw ... and didn't think I was actually seeing anything until I stopped dead in my tracks and stared. What appeared to be a black cigar-shaped dirigible with absolutely no lights, about two blocks long, hanging no more than 500 feet above us slipped silently through the night sky. The sky was so black it was nearly impossible to see, until you saw the stars (what few we can actually see in NYC) reappear from behind it. My friends kept looking, and most of them couldn't see it, but one friend did.
Again, it was nearly impossible to see, as it was pitch black against a pitch black sky, but you COULD see its outline if you stared long enough. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and what I couldn't believe more was the fact that NO ONE ELSE was seeing it! Right over Manhattan!
PEOPLE! Try to be a little more aware of your surroundings!!!
NYC Matt:
You sure it wasn't a mugger looking toi get the drop on you.
well, if you couldn't figure it out. then it does qualify as a "UFO"
so no argument here.
Are we sure it was a UFO?

I just took another dump. A twofer day!
NYCMatt: That happens upstate. There are actually stars in the sky there so it is visible.
I always look at my surroundings. I like to see what's up in the sky. The usual things: the moon, any stars. That's why the bright light I saw looked unusual to me. Stars don't disappear after an hour or two, and then reappear the next night in the same place for a short time.
It was unusual. I don't know what it was.
Where else do you see things?
And, there he is: the slave. Frantically trying to keep pace with me on whatever thread I post a comment on.
When I look at the sky, I'm also careful about where I'm walking. I wouldn't want to step on cc's master, passed-out on the floor.
Pour her another drink, slave.
Frantic?
I don't think so.
Obsessed.
Yes, you are.
There is no question why streeteasy put that cc loser on perma-hide.
How would you know? Perhaps I'm quoting Shakespearean sonnets?
So, back to the discussion:
Matt: Those big cigar-shaped UFO's have been spotted all over the world.
The gigantic triangular mother-ships, really interesting.
Like what was seen by thousands over Arizona a few years ago. What was it?
Not weather balloons. Not flares.
People have video cameras, and are documenting what they see. Technology has caught up with the unknown.
Sightings of the paranormal. World-over.
When thousands of people see and video-tape a big UFO over Arizona; technology has caught up with what was formerly explained-away as mass hysteria.
