the gall of obama--stood firm to impose regulation on our banks and brokerages--stood firm that he wants to close tax loopholes (frauds) for some of our largest corporations--i'm not fond of politicians prefer to be friendly (bought by) the very corporations who buried our economy--if obamas made a few enemies there, kudos to him--now we revert to a business-owned house, and with citizen's united this is just the beginning

Obama stood firm to increase government powers over banks without addressing the real problems, stood firm to do nothing about FNMA and FHLMC, stood firm to put our companies at a competitive disadvantage against foreign companies, and stood firm against the Constitutional right to freedom of speech.

no, the Presidency wasn't handed to him. A democrat was going to win in '08 no matter what. He presented himself as a male alternative to Hillary, and the misogynist Democrats couldn't run to his side fast enough, with the misogynist standard bearer, Teddy Kennedy, first in line. So now, instead of an experienced politician with experience working across party lines (Hillary), we have a neophyte partisan who takes marching orders from Nancy Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel, and our nation is more divided than ever.

"his failure or success will be our failure or success"
an oft spouted yet completely untrue belief. he was successful in getting HCR passed, and now we are saddled (unless bailed out by the courts) with the single worst piece of legislation ever enacted into law. He was successful in passing that god-awful stimulus bill, and while i certainly hope the economy rebounds strongly and unemployment declines sharply, if people attribute that growth to this bill, and it becomes a model for future administrations, that will be a failure.

the main gripe from the people that i know and trust who know about the law is how painfully vague and subject to interpretation it is. so i think calling it the single worst piece of legislation is yet another example of unfortunate hyperbole. people in the business say that it will take years to understand its impact.
hundreds of mainstream economists have come forward and said that the stimulus bill saved significant numbers of jobs yet you call it god awful.

borrowing now and spending it now will always create jobs. its whether the borrowing was necessary, and the best way to spend it.
Obamacare, reinforces virtually everything that is bad about our healthcare delivery/payment system, does nothing to cut costs (the single biggest problem we face, not access to insurance/care, which is the problem it 'solves'), and tramples our freedoms in the process.
if Obama would like to invite me to the Oval Office so I can discuss my criticisms in person with him, I shall gladly accept. I will even bring and pay for the beer and cigarettes.
