Discussion about
The current stock and asset bubble will deflate by the end of the year as predicted. Remember my promise for Dow at 11,000 before the ball drops.

yes the market went down today so most people are bearish. When it goes up one day than most people will be bullish.

well well zizizi, we didn't hit the 15,000 i thought we'd climb up to before the dumb money stopped coming in. looks like you got the memo too. ;-)

don't mind the resident moron who has no clue but tries oh so hard to pretend.

for example...

"yes the market went down today so most people are bearish. When it goes up one day than most people will be bullish."

REALLY? when the markets go down, people are bearish? and... when it goes up... WAIT... people will be bullish????

mmafia, i don't think it was all "dumb money", probably a short squeeze.

zizizi, there is resistance at 13000, if it blows past that, then look out 11500. If I had to guess, it pulls back for a few weeks, then retests highs for a few weeks into the holidays and at least holds 13000 for the rest of the year. After that, who knows.

when is the NYC real estate market supposed to collapse? I keep waiting and waiting .. . I thought everyone predicted Q2, then Q3 . . .I guess it MUST be Q4 . . . or are we already hedging our bets and saying Q1 after the "bonuses dont come in".

Please video tape the hat eating and post on YouTube. Will be enjoyable New Years Day viewing! :)

How about that prediction that the Dow falls to 11,000 by the end of the year, zizizi??

(...repasted from another thread...)

I wish I had the time to scroll through all the major postings on Streeteasy from January 2007 to present, and paste up all the ridiculous prognostications that the real estate bears had posted all year long in 2007 about the market tanking by 10%, 20%, 30%, and more in 2007. That the lack of wall street bonuses would tank the market by 40% (or more!) before the end of the year. That the subprime/Alt-A crisis would cause the NYC real estate market to crash by 50% (OR MORE!) by the end of 2007. That the end of the world was just about to happen ANY DAY NOW, and that they would be able by the end of the (2007) calendar year to snap up crazy deals at 50 cents (or better!) on the dollar.

It was just one massive schadenfreude festival which, sadly, never seemed to gather enough critical mass. Of course, we could go back and paste up the same people's stupid predictions form 2006, 2005, 2004, and so on, but why pour more salt in the wound?

starfish -- I've switched from this:

to this:

But you have to admit that the 15,000 number above seems sort of ridiculous at this point, and the year is not over... ;)

I'm officially eating my hat.

Dow is still above 11,000. However, I've made enough on the drop to 13,200 to be able to afford a new hat.
