Discussion about
Latest will be ConEd Indian Point will be closed in less than a year (that's a prediction but it has all the time problems) One thing about this? IP (when it's running) provides 30% of Westchester/NYC power needs. Electric rates have nowhere to go but up. Big time.

What I hate most after paying my taxes?

The lousy drive getting into Manhattan.
At least Bloomberg should try to get these roads up to today's standards.
Right now they look and feel like highways in Germany shortly after the war.

Oh no, you are not with the Bloomberg administration's program! Our esteemed DOT Commissioner, Janette Genghis-Khan, has decided that you should walk to work. That's why they don't fix the potholes.

I don't want to continue the war analogy, but the roads are really brutal. I was on them this weekend and they are the worst I have ever seen. Of course, the City will say that they have to wait until the spring to start paving, but we all know it will be a very long time until the roads are fixed. First Avenue took about three years before the most recent paving (complete with the swanky "select" bus lanes and bike lanes that make it incredibly dangerous to hail a taxi).

How do fewer lanes of car traffic and pedestrian islands make it more dangerous to hail a cab?
