Discussion about
Some light reading tells me no closer than 12 inches on the pressure wash, defintely no pressure over 1500psi. Curious as to the costs for doing so professionally. Is it per foot? Is it difficult to do yourself?
I'll even take a Primer recommendation. :)
Hmm, even take a primer recommendation? I do get a kick out of these boards. I come on here to help people and I am considered a troll. I think that is very funny.
As far as your question goes, It only goes by sq ft if you have a lot of sq footage. If its small one might charge just for the day: could be $500-$1,000. a day
That was a smart ass invitation for you Primer and yes your not only self promoting you are helpful to people too.
I acknowledge it. :)
yeah I have a guy who is a decent overall laborer who does stuff like this for 1K a week, but I don't know how I feel about him staining and possible board replacements.
As you do get what you pay for but 500-1000 seems quite steep. In that case I'd rent a pressure washer myself, and maybe venture further.
Truth,
You might be able to find someone cheaper. Most of the work I do is interior so I could be wrong. How much sq ft are we talking about? Where is it? Manhattan, Brooklyn.
truthseeker: If do-it-yourself, you could end up like that guy in the T.V. commercial.
Hey board, any advice on sealers?
Last year I used thompson's and it didnt even last the whole season. It is an AWFUL deck sealer.
I know clear/transparent sealers are the weakest, but which of them is the longest lasting?
So far online, Cabot and One Time seem to get good press.
Personal experiences with clear sealers?
What kind of wood are you sealing?
Did some research for you. Many point to pressure washing the roof is actually a bad idea. Not only it may damage your roof material, but spread the algae over a large area.
On a separate note, people would pay a plummer two hundred dollars for a 30 minutes work to clear a drain, pay a repairman $300 to replace a $50 part on a dishwasher, pay the dealership $150 just to change motor oil for their cars, but not a few hundred dollars to someone risking their lives working on a slant roof for say couple hours with machinery and chemicals?
Um, lol good question.
Embarrassed to say no idea.
It's not teak, cedar or anything like that.
It looks like standard pressure treated lumber.
I must have mistaken roof deck over the roof itself.
Vic
If my building allowed contractor work on weekends I wouldnt even think twice and hire someone.
My roof access is thru my apt only and I cant kill 1/2/3 days staying home work days.
Nobody can stop you from doing your own work on weekends.
No roof damaging, the deck is 2 feet or more at all points from the physical roof.
And I think there is a misunderstanding somewhere, there are slanted roofs but no slanted roof decks.
Did you think I was pressure washing undecked flashing on the roof??
Um yes Vic,and if the fact you were too polite.
If I were pressure washing my roof you should at the very least call me retarded. :)
The funny thing was that many people actually were looking for pressure cleaning their roofs in the internet, and many replied. I am sorry for getting confused.
