Discussion about
The clear one is more expensive than the standard green/blue glass. Which is most preferable for a frameless glass shower door?
clear gives a very jewel-box-like look to the end product. to me, it is worth the money.
Agree, the clear (low-iron) glass is the way to go.
Wait. I may be wrong.... I just looked at mine which I love in the calcatta gold marbled bathroom. The edges are green. I guess it isn't clear. I always thought it was because I just never noticed the very slight color cast before. I change me opinion, if permitted: spend the money where it really matters in your renovation and where you will see it. The green tint is not something you are likely to ever even notice. I think I'm a person who notices everything, and obviously I was wrong about what I even owned on this point.
We went clear (starphire) and are very happy with it. Extra cost was $250, IIRC.
Having just renovated a bathroom, and done my homwork, the low-iron clear was my choice. The regular geen glass has a blue/green tint as well as green edges. The low-iron has no cast whatsoever and sparkles. I think was worth the extra cost.
Clear.
how about the Tecon seal? Is that useful and recommended? I was told it seals the glass and makes the water bead off. What are people's experiences with this?
