Why is the maid's room larger than the master bedroom? And why does the maid's room have an ensuite bathroom, but not the MBR?

Layout actually works better in person than you'd think - one of the less bizarre combo floorplans I've been in. In any case, I would guess that people looking for lofty West Village (non-doorman) 2 BRs are less focused on the horror of having to enter the bedroom through the kitchen (or alternatively the help having to walk through the living room to get to the kitchen)!

I'm guessing it's in contract for over asking price.

Of course you are -- you're a borker. Duh.

Well he's probably right considering it lasted all of 8 days on the market.

Judging by FreebirdNYC's previous posts, s/he's also a borker.

The listing agent told me that he had 2 bids on this apartment, site unseen, before the first open house. He arranged it perfectly to start a bidding war. It definitely went for above ask, the only question is how far above. It was not worth the $. The apartment was far smaller in person than in the pictures.

And yesterday we had a thread about all the crime in that area? I wonder where the buyer was from, certainly not local. If price paid was over ask, that would be ironic.

We almost bought in this building, way back then in the olden times (almost 10 years ago, egads!) Our lawyer put the kibosh on the building after reading the financials and the complex set-up of the coop. Great location and great views, very charming units otherwise, and who knows, maybe the financials got straightened out? The way our lawyer described it was that the coop sponsor had all the control while the residential owners had all the expenses. Pretty high maintenance then, if memory serves, about $700-something for a 500sf 1-bedroom. I think the asking price was $345,000 or so.

Must be, if the Daily News says so.

The story does say that the crime-fest is from 7th Ave. to the river, while this place is at the 6th Ave. end.

One block over from the crime? Sounds like the old Upper Westside of the 1970's.
