Just received a notice that there are delinquent property taxes on a coop apartment I bought about 10 months ago. When and how do these taxes normally get paid? Why would I be receiving a notice about this now?

It makes sense to me. When I owned a coop apartment, it did not have its own block and lot code. As such, it was not directly charged property tax.
Try it in an easier way....A COOP is a corporation where the real estate taxes are paid by the corporation and therefore no Shareholder is receiving a separate real estate tax bill from the city to pay.
So it is a valid question are you sure you live in a COOP if you are receiving a real estate tax bill from the city.
Call your management company. Number should be on your maintenance bill.

I am quite certain that I live in a coop, I was just very confused why I would ever personally receive a notice like this from my mortgage company, and wondered whether there was something in this whole purchasing process that I had completely missed. I did call my management company. They apologized and said they would consult with accountants to find out why this happened. I guess my only concern at this point is whether this could have affected my credit score? The notice explicitly states that the outstanding amounts listed do not include any penalties.
