Discussion about
jus sayin.. jus saylin..
Unless we are talking about the revitalization of downtown White Plains and if JLin moving there will effect the price/SF of the luxury buildings there, how does this apply here?
Didn't know before that many Knicks players were living in White Plain instead of Manhattan.
it applies, in that in addition to the relatively new mctmt tax, the MTA will tax a jlin surcharge on any trains coming into penn when knicks play home.
..since penn services NJ/LI, we'll see a rise in property along Metro North townships, forcing public MTA employees with increased paybumps to buy their daughter's studios in Pelham as opposed to Bayonne..
hence, up(town) is the new down(town)
I had season tickets for over 10 years. What Pat Riley did for this city, no other NY coach of any other sport could compare.
But the overall nature of basketball officiating along with some very specific incidents (Knicks-Phoenix melee and suspensions,____ Charles Smith triple layup, twice fouled, none called, etc.) the give a foul, take a foul and even the calls out between teams,or seperate whistles for all stars handbook. All these things contributed to a World Wrestling Federation atmosphere to the sport at best, just plain "fixed" at worst, at least to me and I bailed completely on the sport.
I had so many calls from old friends when that ref was busted telling me "you were right!" but I really got no satisfaction in it.
Knicks front office has pursued me non stop over 12 years now and i'll never go back. I will never invest so much emotion in something so suspect in authenticity ever again.
Congrats to Jeremey Lin, you cant get around hearing about the story.
But you won't find me near the tube, even for that....sorry.
Ive put my money where my mouth is and haven't watched a second of professional basketball in over 10 years.
At least wrestling gave you much better drama for your dollar.
truthskr: It's not Pat Riley's Knicks.
They sure are not the Knicks of Willis Reed vintage.
We can't help it if we compare current New York teams to the greatest of our lifetime. We were lucky.
But even though some players don't own N.Y.C. property, they shop here. They eat out here.
The current generation of basketball fans in N.Y.C. need a player to hang their hopes on.
They will go to MSG to see the games and they will spend some money (non-MSG profit, although the food courts are excellent at the renoed MSG).
The days of Earl The Pearl and Clyde are over.
The same with Herb Brooks' Rangers. ( the "tumbleweeds" fan may have something to argue about that. )
P.S. How about that high school player:7ft+ and 300 lbs.?
Hope the Knicks sign him when the time comes.
Oh shut up truth. You know nothing and tell nothing but lies.
TS: I agree completely. Been exactly there.
I broke down and started following (not exactly watching---thank you MSG TWC).
Lin is unbelievable. Unbelievable.
columbiacounty, what is it that attracted you to a thread about the Knicks?
A lot of NYC athletes do not live in NYC because they don't want to pay that additional NYC income tax.
Best front court in the NBA, smartest back court.
I'm not complaining. Folks were actually asking why I was wearing a Knicks hat before the season started.
I'm happy the bandwagon is here to pay me 2-5x what I paid for my tickets...
