Discussion about
Want to post pictures of my apartment. I need to know what is the best and least expensive wide angle lens camera or point and shoot camera that will allow me to photograph both walls in a minimum 10 to 12 foot width like the pictures shown on most sites on StreetEasy.

What is your budget? Do you already have a camera (DSLR or point and shoot)?
Perhaps more important than the camera is the lighting and decluttering of the space. In a photo, many things become enormous distractions that in "real life" you don't even notice. So I'd say staging is key, as is lighting--an underexposed or dark photo will be awful no matter what it depicts. Also, a tripod is usually very helpful. If you don't know what you are doing in terms of the photography, don't fake it--just ask a friend who is a photographer by hobby or more.

Many real estate photogs freelance. I would consider hiring one for $200-$300 rather than spending the money on a camera. They already own the proper lighting equipment, and they'll also do a little bit of staging/picking out the right POV.

Although as a fsbo, you can and will do many things yourself, photography is not one of them. Hire Gotham Photo.

There is so much "art" that an experienced real estate photographer brings to the party, it's an expense you should not spare. And the photographer doesn't ask for 6%. :-)

Unless you're very confident in your photography, or this is just for showing friends/family, not for selling your apartment, I'd also recommend hiring a pro. But if you're committed to doing it yourself, just rent what you need. A Canon Rebel and Canon ultrawide 10-22mm lens will run around $60 for the weekend, less if you just need it for an afternoon. You'll want to borrow or rent a tripod as well.
