Discussion about
Hello. I was curious if anyone knows of an excellent HDFC lawyer? One who is skilled with handling intricacies of contracts, etc...
Don't use Joanne Seminaria from Kurzman Karelson and Frank. While she has really solid HFDC experience, she delegates everything to junior associates who can't spell HFDC.
OK--so does anyone know of a "good" lawyer...
are you looking to sell or buy?
Neither. It is to interview someone to be our coop attorney.
I am in the middle of buying into an HDFC building right now, and highly recommend my lawyer, Mitchell Rutkin, of Rubinstein & Rutkin LLP. He has a lot of experience in HDFC matters, and his office is in Riverdale.
Do NOT go to Rubinstein and Rutkin! I never rec'd all my papers after the closing. It took months. I signed a sales contract under their guidance that should the sale not go thru the seller still kept my ernest money which
was. 12,000. Dollars. I was like no we need to change that, they were like it never happens just sign. My board is a disaster and had I listened to myself and gotten out when I should of I would have lost 12,000. The
old man is inarticulate. He is from some old boys belief charm em and they won't ask too many questions. When I was meeting with him he kept looking at his watch. God forbid he talk to me after telling me to sign a contract I wasn't comfortable with. I think that is Rubinstein. And Rutkin is a slickster. Another group with disdain for their poor clientele.
If you're buying into an HFDC, you're much better off retaining an ADA than hiring a real estate attorney.
Alan you made me LOL. It's too bad that the city is on-board with or the source of most of the shenanigans.
