This is a lovely building with the entrance on a side street off 5th avenue so it is "right off the park" The finishes are very elegant and the lobby very streamlined. Related will manage the building so nothing but the best can be expected here. The initial units are somewhat smaller but the larger units will be available in October. The adjacent parking garage is a bonus to busy families who want a one stop drop.

it is also right off the projects which are probably closer than the park.

falcogold1, you are so intuitive. Why would we need all of those "valuable" ex-posters to come back when you are so good yourself?

I don't for related. Saw the building last week and was very impressed. There is a research Building behind the tower which is part of MT. Sinai which if anything will improve the neighborhood and security around those blocks. All together the development here between the tower and 1212 and has improved the location and the neighborhood. What is your agenda? Why are you so negative?

klambake, no agenda just being realistic. you pointed out it is half block from the park but failed to mention even closer to the projects. also prices are pretty steep - $9k for a 3br that looks to be 1600 sq ft.

If its entrance is on a side street and not on Fifth Avenue, then its address should not be on Fifth Avenue.

If its developers are deceiving people about this, who knows what else they're deceiving people about?

"Upper Carnegie Hill".

Seriously?

It's EAST HARLEM.

Why not start calling Brooklyn Heights "Lower TriBeCa"?

And $3400 for a one-bedroom ... in EAST HARLEM?

The folks at Related need to consult not only a map of Manhattan, but also a calendar; it's not 2006 anymore ...

That kind of address change is (or used to be) approved by the Borough President's office. E.g., 1049 Fifth, which is a full building away from Fifth.

There're other buildings on Fifth that choose to use the side-street address, as being more discreet: e.g., 1 E 66th, 2 E 67th, 2 E 88th.

"There're other buildings on Fifth that choose to use the side-street address, as being more discreet: e.g., 1 E 66th, 2 E 67th, 2 E 88th."

This is even better; it shows you which cross street it's on, plus if the building number is 1 or 2, it's obvious that it's right on Fifth Avenue.

I can't wait until some buffoon developer wants to get a Fifth Avenue address where the surrounding building numbers are already taken. 1049 1/2 Fifth Avenue would be pretty hilarious.

These examples of streets that chose to use side street addresses are, I believe, very different. In the instances I know of, such buildings border on both a cross street and fifth avenue, so the adress could be either, regardless of where the main entrance may be sited. In the case of '1214 Fifth Avenue', no part of the building reaches 5th Avenue, or indeed Madison, the only street it is in contact with is 102nd street.

Just THANK JESUS SE came to its senses and called this "East Harlem" instead the utterly non-existent "Upper Carnegie Hill". This building is NORTH of me and my building is labelled "East Harlem."

Also, 15 CPW is not on CPW. Who cares where the entrance is.

"Who are these people paying so much for rental in East Harlem?"

See this then. Asking $22,000 per month.

You could live on CPN a get much larger unit with the same view for less than these.

Jason nails it as usual. I'm a promoter of Harlem but those prices in East Harlem with a noisy, congested Mount Sinai hospital right next door seem completely nuts.

This tower is behind the "noise" on 5th Avenue and with the new high tech windows it is not an issue. Second, the front and sides of the building are pointed toward Central Park and facing the resevoir, the baseball fields and Meer Pond. Most would agree those are spectacular views! In addition to the full service building staff, there is a garage in the building, and a pool, and a playroom and a screening room and party room. The staff are top notch. Whatever you need can be delivered here and there are taxi's on 5th avenue to transport you anywhere.
