Discussion about
Hi all, I am looking to do a kitchen reno on an apartment I am currently in contract for. One of the things I want to do is install a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. The Coop board has said that a licensed plumber would be needed, so the one contractor I saw when I was thinking about making an offer quoted me $5k for this. Is this the normal rate? He had said that it would be $400.00 vs 2k... [more]

Do you need electrical upgrade, gas line, and venting?

REMom, he didn't mention the electrical upgrade, gas line or the venting. He asked about what kind of safety features the building would require and the kind of line he'd have to run, but it was all related to the pipes. The jump from 400 if he did it, to 2k for a plumber to come in to the final quote of 5k was just shocking. How much would something like this usually cost?

I don't think an electrical update was needed. He never mentioned anything, just asked about the piping. How much would something like that usually run?

I think there are different price list according to company policy. You can find many company who work regarding this. When I was in UK I got a plumber from www.london-boiler-repair.co.uk and the price was reasonable. I think you should go contact your local plumber and get the price list.
