Bathroom Rennovation - designer?

My clients generally do not use a designer for a bathroom renovation. It usually takes them anywhere from 2-4 hours at showrooms to pick out everything they need

Take a walk around the Smolka showroom, uptowngal.
They have nice things and you can get most of what you need there, except for tiles.

Check out the square green glass sink. Beautiful.

I think you would be better off going to tile stores first Smolka is great for plumbing but at tile stores you will see some bathroom setups with the tiles and the plumbing. I would try Nemo tile on 21st and Park

Uptown gal can walk from Nemo to Smolka. That's 2 showrooms.

Unless you want to use really expensive low production run materials,
you should be able to get a really nice job done for $10,000 including
labor and materials

the beautiful sink is expensive. But I would design my whole bathroom around it.
That one expensive, beautiful sink is worth it.
Other things can be less expensive and it won't matter because the sink is so beautiful.

definitely without a designer. you can add $2+K for a designer or try someone from Parsons or FIT

You cannot renovate a bathroom with insured and licensed professionals for $10,000.00

Most buildings require that you replace all the branch lines back to the riser, with that along with the rest of the plumbing can run you $5,000.00

I find that between all the purchases (tiles,shower body,vanity, sink, faucet, toilet, tub, medicine cabinet, light fixtures, etc) and the contractor you are looking more in the area of $25,000.00. Can it be done cheaper? Of course but in my experience that's what it generally costs

I would say in Manhattan it’s more like 30k+, depends on your management company and layout you might have to file with DOB.
You can use (design-build) like “Manhattan renovations” they can take care of all required submittals and design decisions

If not, then you can do a very nice, clean bathroom renovation under $20k. The filing process will then dictate the time and money involved in getting you started.
