Please provide a reasonable (ahem, cheap) but competent company to seal and cap my large kitchen and small bathroom white marble counter-tops. Any 1st hand experienced review is much appreciated - I assume they'd polish stains off first as much as possible? How much does something like this cost? I'm not having much luck on Service Magic - unit is in midtown, many thanks.
Sealing stone is a pretty simple task to do your self, you just need a quality water based sealer and a rag or sponge, plenty of diy videos online, the key is using a good sealing product.
SS400K,
I have been using a guy for years and he is great at removing the stains. You can email me at prime renovations@mac.com
Polish does not remove stains from marble. Is the surface polished or honed marble now? If you really are just looking for sealing, as Rivas said, that is a simple DIY task and should be done periodically. Don't skimp out when buying the sealer. At a tile store or a good hardware store, a quart of a good sealer (Stonetech or 511) will cost you $40-$50 (good for a few applications).
If the counters are stained, etched or damaged, you have a bigger project. Resurfacing marble is tedious and not cheap (but I can't tell you how much).
A normal sized kitchen should be around $1,000.00 if they need to take stains out
rivas, we dont like DIY here. Here we like to overpay for services, because there are professionals that can do it better than you can. That is why we get our laundry done, get our houses cleaned and also have our dogs walked. Get with the program.
Gcondo,
Do you take your own stains out of you marble countertops? Out of curiosity what is it that you do for a living? It seems that every time I post something you respond soon after in a negative way. It doesn't seem as if you try to help people on this board so why do you come here?
thank you primer et al
If you want stop from etching, staining and those moldy joints, you need look at Permeators. Not a DIY job, do need a professional. Although does not need any reapplication again.
