Discussion about
daughter's moving to London for 8 year schooling/mentorship program.. she prefers NYC and wants to come back year 9 with new hubby and (hopefully) child, so we're thinking of listing her studio (sell or rent) as she'll prefer a 2 bedroom when back in NYC... lot of FSBO sites, but curious outside of StreetEasy obviously what are the better sites geared toward NYC, and have the most local activity, thanks.

Nothing is better than StreetEasy.

That said I think handling a rental on your own is pretty easy and not too time intensive.

Selling is another story. If you really want to go it alone I would suggest a hybrid approach that real direct offers. I have no affiliation with RD, but have shown properties they list and the process was pretty seamless right through the bidding on the property.

I was able to sell and rent apts on streeteasy. If you start listening to brokers, they will tell you there is no way you can sell your apt. but the fact is, if you price it right it will sell.

Hi

I am in the market to buy a studio for investment purpose.
Would you be able to send me details about the studio you intend to sell ?

Thanks

Real Direct I am guessing?

Never trust a broker or salesman. Remember that.

What is this 8 year program in the UK? I've never heard of such a thing that extended, particularly by someone already of an age where they're already living independently in NYC. Is this medical school?

In the US the average student takes 8.2 years to get a Ph.D. It usually takes about half that time in the UK, though.

It's alright to do FSBO, but if you're serious about selling make sure you're also listed in RLS (basically the MLS in NYC). Then read this www.hauseit.com/3-reasons-nyc-fsbo-sellers-fail/ They'll pair you with a top local brokerage (that's a member of REBNY - with access to RLS) ... I believe the pricing is still around $400 for 3 months.

I had a good experience with Hauseit. Very responsive. All inquiries were promptly received. And no just because they saved my A&*$ because frankly I can't afford to pay 10% to sell my place (6%+2% flip tax +2% tranfer taxes??) and I'm writing them a thank you as the tiniest form of payback does not mean i work for them "Admin2009"

their reviews are here https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.hauseit.com good luck to you
