UCC termination

UCC-3 termination terminates a UCC-1 filing. There is no mortgage on a cooperative apartment. Also, someone can payoff their loan without selling their cooperative apartment.

Search acris by the name of the current owner or search by the block and lot. Start from the time of the purchase till today, see if there is a filing for a transfer (RPT).

The UCC3 termination is just the loan being paid off. If the buyer's getting financing, you might see their UCC1 before the closing itself shows up. I'd check the apartment numbers on any recent UCC1s for the building; maybe the buyer's is there already.

NWT there may be no buyer yet, if there is a new buyer they may not need financing (no UCC-1 then) or the potential purchaser's bank may not have filed yet.

@Thartonb just look at all the recent filing under the block and lot, see if there is any information about the particular unit.

Thanks. Looked at every UCC1 from the year before the date of the UCC3 until the present. Can't find anything indicating a new purchaser. Also searched "other documents". No prior info on SE about the apartment before the current sale listing.

Maybe they paid off their loan and still own the apartment.

UCC-3 can also be for an assignment or a continuation - not always a termination.
