Discussion about
No, not the sales history, not the rent. Not how many days on the market, not what was spent. I'm talking about the other history, the building's actual life. What it saw, what it held, what it overcame. In my search of my 100 year old building's history, I came across this wonderful blog about 100s of manhattan buildings. As Ive read thru some of the buildings' lives, I realize this blog is no easy task, kudos to Mr.Miller http://daytoninmanhattan.blogspot.com/ And no, I am not related, affiliated or have anything to gain from promoting this blog. I was just "impressed" and thought some of you would appreciate some of the info here as well.

Love it! There was a great post about the building around the corner from me.

I have lived in all kinds of spaces, built anywhere from the 1790s to the 1970s (and one that encompassed both), and all kinds of styles. The one unifying thread is that each place I've lived has a story, or more often a saga, behind it.

I should e-mail this guy about my current building, an obvious "which one of these things is not like the other....", to see if he can dig up anything I haven't been able to.

who cares.

if it's not your building, go away

if it's your building, you will sell it cahshing out one day

if you rent it out, ask your renters to go find it out
