A Clear winner!
"Was thinking how pointless VP debates are; then recalled how Cheney brought the country to its knees"
- Oh, come now, Stairway, you were on your knees long before that!
biden crushed twerpy ryan
so funny that ryan has chosen to present self as a wonky "numbers guy"
he came off as the clearly dumber one when up against biden, who repugs would love to put on par with quayle--fail!
and his continual touting of already debunked sound bites was laughable, so biden laughed, along with anyone else who reads
Obama finally grew a pair, but Romney still came across more confident and presidential. I thought I heard some call him Mr. Presedent by accident.
Again Romney is the true leader that inspire hope and optimism.
He has a proven record of success as a leader.
Romney is a liar and I was happy to see Obama call him out on everything from oil drilling, to women's issues, to gas prices, to Libya etc. Romney looked like crap.
Romney came across as a spoiled, over-privileged schoolyard bully and simply looked like an A$$hole. Presidential? I think not. CEO of a highly successful LBO chop-shop? Absolutely...
I also love the irony, for a guy who's whole party is staunchly against affirmative action, he's got a binder of women for you so you can do exactly what he did. Implement a policy of affirmative action in his cabinet.
This guy is so full of crap it pains me, I was honestly considering voting for him given my (and many other liberal manhattanites) enormous disappointment with Obama over the past 4 years. But I'm sorry, I could never vote for this guy now, let alone a ticket that includes Paul Ryan.
"I thought I heard some call him Mr. Presedent [sic] by accident." -> God [on the magical planet of Kolob] willing, he will only ever be called Mr. President by accident.
both are crap
mitt is less evil though
i thought Obama got a lot of public opinion points last night purely on the basis of not sucking as much as last time. personally, i thought it was a tie, but the people have spoken-37%0/30%R/33%TIE per cnn. lorraine the pretty latina lady did call Romney mr. president before correcting herself. and then Romney stuttered and could say her name right.
^^could NOT say her name right
@lucille, yes because usually he would proceed addressing a Latino/Latina with "fetch me a...." or "remember to clean the....". He was thrown totally off his game by having to address her as a human.
I really don't think that's it but we can agree to disagree.
was loraine or her family illegal?
"mitt is less evil though"
ha...ha ha...ha...hahahahahahahahaha!!! That made my day :-) But wait!!
"@lucille, yes because usually he would proceed addressing a Latino/Latina with "fetch me a...." or "remember to clean the....". He was thrown totally off his game by having to address her as a human."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! That was even funnier...well done uwsbeagle.
NYC10007, it's not funny
even though mitt/ryan vow to commit 10 times more crimes than bam did, but they haven't done any harm yet. one is suspect-to-be, one has been criminal already, which one will you pick?
Bill Maher @ Facebook: "At least Obama had the decency not to urinate on the corpse."
Kyle, it may have been the decent thing to do. But wouldn't it have been fun to see? Sorry the more I see of Romney the more he makes me cringe and the more I forget how frustrated and disillusioned I have gotten with Obama over the past few years. For me there is no choice (and yes, that is a key word) and never has been. But I better log off now and go home and make dinner.
I hate to break this to the jaded left wingers here, but Romney probably swayed more undecideds his way last night than Obama did.
"Romney probably swayed more undecideds his way last night than Obama did."
i have to agree with this. i still don't think anyone "won" last night's debate and people are only cheering Obama's performance because he did so much better than last time. if you judge the debate on its own merit without the context of the last debate, they were in in equally decent shape and delivered what was needed of them. personally, a little too nervous and stutter-y for 2 candidates for the role of the most powerful man in the world, but that's just me.
President Romney. Had a nice ring. Get use to it.
the ones still cheering for bam are retards, he fooled you once 4 years ago, now you let him fool you twice, shame on you

Lucille, where are you and your girls occupying your time these days?
staten island
That is very true Caonima
"staten island" ... Oh, lucillebluth, I just adore your self-deprecating sense of humor. First Romney, and now this! You're the bestest!!!
Obama's in trouble
lol its interesting comparing the comments between the "Romney Won" and "Obama Won" threads.
Lets make it easier this time....you can all argue live from 9pm on at http://www.LivePoliticalChat.com/go/19378
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll
alan, you got me, i don't really live in staten island.
You do now.
Romney again appeared Presidential and on the ball on numbers and policy,
but more important and different from the other debates, he actually appeared affable which has always been something he was missing in public. He didn't have that awkward pained smile, he was neither saccharine nor acerbic, the format didn't put him in a position to look like he was in a boxing match, he was close up to Obama and to Schieffer so he didn't have to yell or be obnoxious. And with the benefit of two prior debates, both the candidates and the moderator managed to avoid the problems with the prior moderators (too little, too much) so it was much more overall pleasant. I don't really like to think about who "won" and who "lost" the debate, but I think Romney benefited nicely from the debate and Obama came out neutral - he did fine.
If everyone is very, very quiet, perhaps no one will bump this thread calling out posters with less than prescient pronouncements and insights...starting with the title of the thread.
Once again Brooksie & LICC make the call for America!
My comment won't bump this thread.
When Obama did not do well in that stand-up hall debate, he looked bad and had to be coached
on how to get it together for the next debate.
So we will have 4 more years of Obama. He said: "The best is yet to come".
We just had the worst in NY/NJ area. It's going to take a lot of time and money to fix this mess.
Hurricane relief donations update:
If you have a backpack to spare, please fill it up with toiletries.
It makes things easier if you can pack each for "Male", "Female", "Infant","Child";
and include a list of the items inside the back-pack on top of supplies where it can be seen.
Pet food and pet supplies are also needed. The dog won't need the back-pack but the pet-owner will.
Thanks to any of you who have made donations.
kyle: Even Chris Christie got to hug it out with Bruce Springsteen the other day.
Bruce actually does like Christie. I think Christie has done a good job for N.J. during this hurricane mess.
Party lines can and should be crossed in times of disaster.
If in fact the best man won again I hope that we will see him rise to the occasion. Starting today.
I'll be happy if he gets it almost the best, near best, somewhere around there on the competent scale.
Brooks2 = idiot.

stevejhx, how fared your platinum siding in Point O' Woods during the hurricane that Obama had the NOAA create just before the election so that he'd win??
stevej, with fi and now fl, you seem to like flirting with bad weather. when it's so safe renting.
Unscathed on Fire Island, and chilly here in Florida.
So, stevejhx, what's your assessment of sandbar living -- we're doomed, or we've had our regular 70-year major hurricane and our next one will be around 2082?
I ask only because a good friend had nearly signed a contract on a barrier island house, when along came Sandy, and now she's renegotiating -- but too generously, from the sound of things. I think she needs to take future likelihoods into account, including wildly higher flood insurance premiums, and even the total absence of future financing opportunities lowering her potential resale price.
stevie: Chilly in Florida, are you?
I remember back in 1976 or so, when there was a major frost in Florida.
( I remember it so well only because some kid was tripping on LSD at a Grateful Dead show and he kept saying over and over:
"THERE'S A FROST IN FLORIDA -- YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET ANY F**KIN' ORANGES!!!")
47% won the election , as they will continue to mooch off of everyone else for 4 more years
"If everyone is very, very quiet, perhaps no one will bump this thread calling out posters with less than prescient pronouncements and insights...starting with the title of the thread."
eh, those who gamble sometimes lose.
lucille, don't cricitize kylewest, he needs to keep his pristine image intact so long as it doesn't mention his frequent use of expensive prescription mind-alterning drugs that are theoretically better than the non-prescription versions that the hoi polloi on 14th street might take.
oh no kidding! what kind of stuff is kyle into? anything good?
What would you take if your "nerves are shattered" by merely crossing 14th Street?
glad to hear all ok, steve j
my rental's on high ground, uptown, never any issues--and my house, depsite it's expensive-to-insure location within 500 ft of the water sustain no damage at all--i threw a few downed branches into the woods
tragedy for many, very sad--economic ball and chain for tri-state area
Nothing the doctors had could undue the damage my last attempt at walking to Whole Foods 14th St. inflicted. Now I'm on experimental treatments but they aren't really helping. They say the trauma is just something I will likely have to live with and I should do all I can to avoid that street--especially between University and Broadway. I have to go lay down. Just thinking about that sidewalk is making me want to hurt people.
??--i think youre joking--if not, best luck with whatever ails you
best of luck on your long road to recovery, kyle. god bless.
kyle: lol!
I don't cross 14th street anywhere near Union Square.
Approach Whole Foods from downtown, no need to cross 14th st.
I found two spelling/grammar mistakes in kyle's post.
huntersburg has his red pencil sharpened.
hurt an illegal please
i believe u mean 1 spelling and 1 grammar mistake, hunter. we are dying to know what they are. please educate us.
*undo*
the "lay down" could be personal and passable.
any more questions nyc1234? do you want to sell me a bridge?
lol!
Was he sworn in today, too, Brooksie?
I thought he was sworn in yesterday.
Or were you referring to the dog-torturer?
Steve,
No. "He" was not sworn in today. I am very disappointed to say.
And, Alan is right. The President was officially sworn in yesterday.
Huntersburg!
COlumbiaCOunty!
Books2 is as seemingly talented at prognosticating election results as he is NYC real estate prices....

So bitter.
What did you think about Michelle's bangs?
Not a fan. You?
