Discussion about
Hi All, Asking if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with a school roofing project. We are a small condo building that is located adjacent to a Highschool. We were informed earlier in the year that the school will be undergoing asbestos removal. The construction crew works from 3pm until 11pm (often until 12 am). For the past two months they have begun roofing and every three days there is a... [more]

We have had issues with a long, shoddy, noisy, stinky, messy, off-hours, violation-riffic construction project going on at an old church accross the street and have actually had decent results by contacting out City Council person. His office was polite, took us seriously and things improve (though eventually fall back).
I'm sure not all CC's are as responsive bt worth a shot.

When you contacted 311, did you do so by phone or use the form? The forms seem to be pretty helpful, in our experience.
For one thing, the construction work isn't supposed to go on past 6pm or on weekends at all.
If you can't get them for the toxic crap, maybe for other violations.
Good luck!

That is a great suggestion. Not sure if we can get them for the time period violation but there are certainly other violations. They had a variance to work from 3pm to 11pm since school is in session from 8am - 3pm. The link is helpful and we will file there as well.
Contacting the City Council didn't even cross our minds. That will be our next step. Many thanks.
