Washer/dryer. Who wants to schlep their stuff to the basement over and over?
Depends on the size. For a 2 bed room with only one bath, half bath any time as you can always get your laundry done outside or by cleaning lady. For a 2 bed 2 bath, perhaps washer dryer but close call.
You can't "always" get your laundry done outside or by cleaning lady.
On the two bedroom, two bath it depends if both baths are ensuite. If that is the case, the half bath is a must, no guest wants to have to go through someone's bedroom to go. If one of the baths is in the hall and easily accessible to guests, go for the washer/dryer.
And I agree with 300 Mercer, if you one have one bath, especially in a two bedroom, the half bath would be a great addition. Even in a one bedroom, if the bathroom is en suite, a half bath would pay off.
sharing washer/dryer is uncivilized
>or by cleaning lady.
or cleaning man.
Curious to know opinions for a large one-bedroom plus home office that has a master suite bath and a half bath with a washer-dryer closet. What's more valuable, expanding the half bath to a full with shower stall, or keeping the washer-dryer?
I would keep the half bath with washer/dryer.
I would keep the half bath as well. If your apartment easily converts to a 2br it may make sense to have another full bath but then if people have kids, they really want the w/d so its a "wash" no pun intended.
For the half bath vs. washer/dryer question, I would prefer an in-unit washer dryer. Having an extra toilet is useful at times, but a washer/dryer IMO is more a necessity than a luxury.
For 10007's question, for a one bedroom with a master suite (shower and tub in master bath I am guessing), I would recommend leaving the washer/dryer. Really no need to put in a small shower in the
powder room.
I think it's a tough call. Think we're landing on the washer/dryer. With kids it's really a must.
