Discussion about
im requesting a reference letter from my landlord - should I include a template for him to just sign (as an example), or is it basic enough (or too presumptious) that I neednt? I've been a good tenant.

I would suggest that you offer to draft it for him, but let him decide.

The only thing a landlord is required to write is whether or not you've paid your rent on time.
And quite frankly, that is the only thing that matters.

If you've been a bad tenant in other matters, it wouldnt be passed on anyway as
A) they'd want you out of the building as fast as possible and
B) could open themselves up to a lawsuit from you

I'm sure that not even Goldwyn T's lawyer would take on that lawsuit.

Unless it's small LL, many have a standard template they use.

We unfortunately ran into a situation where our current tenant stopped paying us rent and has Not paid us rent for several months. We retained a real estate attorney and are now evicting this tenant. We genuinely do not wish to go thru this stressful, painful and financially difficult process ever again. Therefore, could someone please recommend a website that has a list of Bad/Delinquent tenant(s) in NYC? Many thanks....
