Discussion about
We have an old four handle system in the tub - two (hot/cold) controlling the shower head and two (hot/cold) controlling the sprout. Without retiling, we are looking to replace the handles/sprout to include a hand held shower - the upper two still controlling the shower head and the lower two controlling the sprout with a switch to hand held shower. I've been searching for such on the internet for days without any luck. I did come across a patent on google on an extendible spout. ;) Any help one can offer would be very much appreciated.

It's called a "shower arm diverter", to screw onto the shower arm and switch between hand and wall showers.

You might be able to find the same kind of thing to screw into the tub spout, but the "into" will probably not have threads the way a shower arm does.

Why not just buy a shower head that can act as a hand shower as well?

Right, that'd make more sense.

Jukim39,

Check to see if Speakman makes them. You will not be disappointed.

the low flow is bc of EPA greenie mandates on the shower heads..that said, many showerheads are designed so that you can pull out the flow restrictor, so you can search on the web for guides on how to do it to find the easy models that let you remove the restrictor, but friends that are green-police might give you a hard time if you tell them.
