Our home in Northern Westchester is now ready for its new family. Room for everyone, huge yard, get school district and fantastic neighborhood. http://www.houlihanlawrence.com/property/37589153/426-rutledge-drive-yorktown-heights-ny-10598
nice home but hell of a commute from nyc
Northern Westchester is a bit too south for me if I move to the suburbs.
The suburbs are (and always have been) a trade-off for the city commuter. Your kids get to play soccer with their friends in the back yard, the public schools are excellent, and there is a strong sense of community. For less than the cost of a two bedroom apartment in Manhattan, you get four times the space. There's always room for Grandma and Grandpa to stay.
Too big? The basement of this home is a complete one bedroom apartment. File the paperwork, and rent the space out.
2.5 hrs commute each way to/from nyc. So 5 hrs a day total in a car / bus / subway. thanks but no thanks.
John75 LOL! The drive to midtown is i 1 hour - I did it for many years. With traffic, an hour 20. In bad weather,I switched to the train and was able to work in both directions. It was actually nice to get my morning organized and settle my brain before arriving home. Exaggeration is silly.
2.5 hrs key to key on March 3rd - no exaggeration.
I do not live in Westchester but my parents do...it is always a trip when I visit..anyway, that's my personal experience. BTW, your house looks really nice. Good luck with the sale!
I just looked at the listing photos. Where's the warmth?
The wait for a train at Yorktown Heights is 57 years and counting.
Worse than that, New York Central no longer has bar cars. Frowny face.
