Discussion about 200 East 90th Street in Yorkville
I know some people who live there in an apartment that they combined with a neighboring place. I also looked at apartments there. It is a nice, well run building. The only reason we didn't buy there is that the rooms are a bit small and they don't have a separate dining area.

I also know a couple who moved from there when they had 2 children. They loved the building, but they left for the suburbs when they outgrew their 2 bedroom apartment.
great to know... any thoughts on square footage for the E and F line? the E line ( http://streeteasy.com/building/200-east-90-street-new_york/12e ) says 1000 sq ft but it seems so much smaller. Curious if anyone had thoughts?
There is no way that is 1000 sf. One e-line apartment was listed as 900, which is also a reach. A quick, rough calculation yields somewhere around 800-850 sf.
I looked at 12E a few year back, but it seemed extremely cramped for 1,000 sq ft. ( I was really interested in a 1 bedroom in the building, but they were so small that we looked at the 2 bedrooms). We wound up buying a jr. 4 nearby (1 bath) that is truly 950 sq. ft. and is far more spacious. I could legitimately turn the dining area into a bedroom the same size as the smaller one in 12E. So that second bathroom in 12 E would have cost me an extra 225K. I loved 200 E 90th's building and its convenience to stores and the subway though.
Have you considered the building across the street, 1601/1619 Third Ave. The 2 bedrooms there run about the same price but are huge compared to 12E. It's a true condo. Gas and electricity are included in the maintenance and you control your own heat and a/c. The drawback is that it is a huge, more impersonal building.
No thanks! I'm going to stay in my mother's basement.
any concerns about it being close to the marine transfer station/garbage trucks passing by?
