Discussion about The Chelsea Warren at 155 West 20th Street in Chelsea
There are great new plantings that just went in -fab. Makes the whole block looks great. I wish I could find a place in their to live. i hear ev
ery apartment has a good layout and monthly;y maint is low.
Well, according to fieldchester the main characteristic of the building is that it is "1 block from the projects and the post office in Chelsea".
for those missing context for yet another one of 30yrs_ago's flashes of anger, see the attached thread: https://streeteasy.com/talk/discussion/41067-need-a-broker-for-power-buyer
By the way, only a broker could convince someone that living near Barneys is a good thing. How often does someone need to run across the street to Barneys?
The block is not one block from the projects,..and fancy Walker Tower sits on the post officeblock with 40 million dollar apartments--you need overlook alot at that price. The 20th street building is one block from Trader Joes a few blocks from. Whole Foods and near many trains and buses. Every building has issues with location. The calamer across from the Limelight, the Oneil on sixth Avenue with rear apartment overlooking a run down cemetery...all the buildings along the highline which are nabes to the projects on 9th avenue. and every block with the sad NY reality of homeless.
Every buyer can pick and choose what they deem works for them, simple. Most peiople are happy with their location which works for them! Agreed Barneys is not an active selling point! Point taken.
With refrence to WalkernTower hype -buyers were obvioulsy duped to buyer on a traqique block in /chelsea. Dark gloomy and even sketchy. Buyers there are only hiding their coins in NY realestate and will never be living their anyway and will not be contributing to the fabric of the area.
