Discussion about
Apparently the building has instituted a $600 move in/move out fee that is non-refundable. Even with professional moves with insurance and a refundable deposit placed down. It is another example of nickel and diming people and it is disgusting. Keep that it mind if you are looking at this building

Most buildings have been doing that for many years right now. It's to cover the additional wear and tear for both the elevators and hallways. They implemented that in some condos where we lived when we had a lot of investors who used the apartments for rentals. They had several unrelated people on their leases, so one apartment could mean the potential for at least 3 or 4 move in's/move out's during the course of the lease. While no movers really do any extensive damage, the wallpaper and paint jobs get scuffed up necessitating more maintenance on those floors.

Cost of doing business. Most buildings have move-in/out fees.

Why should any non rental building allow for a free move?
