This building is very shoddy and poorly maintained. Despite the recent renovations to some units and excellent location, the management of this building has many problems. There are cracks everywhere in the building. There is a dumb waiter shaft between floors that is a major fire hazard. The building did not have hot water nor heat for many months after the gas explosion on 7th st and all they did was provide a cheap, dangerous electric hotplate. They replaced the piping with a really shoddy job and left holes between the floors for weeks and didn't paint the walls filled with grease nor replace the titles. There are mice and cockroaches galore where you take out the trash. Most of the existing tenants are fighting them for back rent. The owner has no respect for the tenants. The super doesn't take out the trash regularly nor sweep the floors. Theres been puke and broken glass in the building for days. The door handle was missing for days. The brokers charge a full fee for any change to the lease so you better keep all of the same leaseholders/roommates/guarantors or pay another fee.

Not sure when this was posted, but felt the need to comment as it is either untrue or out dated.
Today as of 2019 the building s hallways have been fully renovated and I personally do not see any mice or roaches and there s a standing once a month free extermination service as preventative care.
Yes, there was a gas outage a few years back that Con Ed despite tenants and Landlords constantly begging for speedy repair took very long. Tenants were compensated for outage though.
Further, the brokers to this building charge nothing to change a roommate as a roommate is not a tenant on the lease. If someone wants to change the tenants on the lease and a full screening process takes place and a new lease is issued to be signed, they charge a small partial processing fee for their time.
