Discussion about
Myself and a few friends are seriously considering getting licensed and becoming agents part-time. What are the pro's and con's of joining a high commission split firm vs a big traditional firm? Are there any alternatives?

What neighborhood(s) do you want to work in?

you always ask that fieldchester, it's so funny.

Riddhi, you should get training at a good firm, and probably work under a high volume team to earn some experience. Otherwise it's a tough business... Like in the corporate world, this is a time of consolidation. Teams are getting bigger and bigger and taking larger shares of the pie, and the established companies are doing the same.

From talking to other agents, my company Douglas Elliman, has the most developed training program. I joined after years of running my own real estate business and ended up surprised at the wealth of knowledge they imparted on the trainees.

Well the OP seems to be very focused on FSBOs in his or her other posts which for the most part can't be successful in Manhattan, so I'm wondering.
