Management at 520 West 50th Street

The worst of the worst management in town - They made me polish 5 flights of paneling when I moved in (or they wouldn't give back my $500 move in deposit. They never gave it back any way.) When I moved out, they made my movers insure their office staff 41 blocks away - I guess in case they dropped my futon and it bounced... 41 blocks. Every time I tried to throw out a box, I'd break it down to minimum, per house rules, but the super would tell me I had to take it next door or put it in the city's public garbage cans(as he wasn't 'dealing' with it)! AVOID THEM AT ALL COST! And don't even get me started on the mental cases that LIVE in the building (like the Super).

This is a well maintained building with a good reserve. The roof, facade as well as the hallways and stairs are recently renovated. This building is protective of the hall ways due to the renovation and require insurance from moving companies, this is common in co-ops. The building has outside garbage like many walk ups, fines up to $500 are levied when garbage and recycling are not in its place, so supper is diligent about the garbage. Like all co-ops fines are paid by the co-op and passed on to shareholders. The building works hard to keep costs down. Shareholders are encouraged to participate in the management of the building. This is a open place where everyone is welcome.
