Discussion about
With all the issues of C/0s, I'm thinking of looking into older, more established communities like Concord Village. I do notice though that the maintenance on this older development is quite high. Anyone know why it is so? There are some amenities, but certainly not enough to support the maintenance!

happy to respond - been in CV for the past 7 years, now w 2 kids, age 8 and 4...

aside from 24 hour doormen in every building, there are night porters and overnight maintenance men, security in park lots and walking grounds, etc...a recent renovation to children's play area is now done that includes sitting area for parents and a garden...

capital improvements include new entrances, elevators and laundry rooms (machines & flooring)...

carpeted hallways vacuumed every day, etc, etc - all in addition to a well equipped gym which i believe we are charged $20 a person for extra.

Maintenance is comparable for what you get. It covers taxes, and pays for the lovely grounds of the building. The staff is top notch- they fix any problems fast. I had a toilet repaired on xmas eve for no charge.
