where does an owner stop his car,cab,to get out or unload? building directly on 1st ave bicycle lane,,then parking islands.then the street i have never seen any building so poorly planned.... MOVERS?? FREIGHT?? DELIVERIES??? WHERE???

Same problem all over the city where bike lanes and islands have been installed. Can't catch a taxi either, except in the middle of 1st Avenue, which is dangerous. We generally cross the Avenue and catch taxis on the East side of the street.

All of this while the bike lane is virtually empty, 24/7. I'm aware of an assisted living building with seniors getting in and out of taxis with canes and walkers and the city refused to make any accommodation, up on 2nd Ave in the 90's. Thank Bloomberg and di Blasio.
