The Cameo

I lived there for years but the new management cut back on staff, hiring poorly-trained (if at all) front-desk people that could not care less about who comes in and out of the building or whether you have packages waiting for your pick-up for days... and unlike the description here on streeteasy, it DOES NOT have a live-in super, which does make a difference when you need assistance in the evening or weekends... (it used to have one, but they got rid of him so that they could rent out his apartment as well). Cheap cheap cheap

I would not recommend this building to anyone. The owners are renovating apartments, presumably to go from a mid-range building to a luxury building. However, the owners, management company, and building staff have no idea how to run a luxury building. Our maintenance requests have been routinely ignored, the construction noise is extremely loud, the renovations look much nicer than they actually are (the floors are so thin that they scratch at the slightest thing), the internal telephones apparently haven't worked in years so the building just sends up all delivery people, the super appears to be flat-out ignoring us at this point. The apartment was not even painted or CLEANED before we moved in. All in all, we have been extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism with this building and its management company. Avoid this building.
