I previously wrote a review of this building with completely factual information. It is critical that potential renters know what they are getting into with this building. 1. The landlord did not return our security deposit. We are still fighting for it. Ask your leasing agent for her name and do your research on her before you sign. I previously wrote a review of this building with completely factual information. It is critical that potential renters know what they are getting into with this building. 1. The landlord did not return our security deposit. We are still fighting for it. Ask your leasing agent for her name and do your research on her before you sign. There are plenty of review of her out on the internet. 2. There is no trash removal in the building. Residents must take the trash out the front door of the apartment building (onto second avenue) and into the restaurant underneath the building and into the basement of the restaurant in order to dispose of trash. If the restaurant is closed, you cannot take your trash out. Residents often leave trash in the hallway overnight in the building as a result. We had a few mice in our apartment (and in the hallways) as a result as well as a pretty steady stream of cockroaches. (They spray, but it's always a temporary solution because of the trash situation.) 3. If you have the bedroom that is on second avenue, good luck getting any sleep whatsoever. It's very loud with the bus stop just outside the front door. You will need ear plugs and a sound machine to drown out the noise. 4. There is virtually no natural light in the apartment except at either end where the bedrooms are. It's a railroad apartment. 5. It may have been cosmetically re-done, but the skeleton of the building is still old. This means you can hear every footstep of your neighbors above AND BELOW you. 6. It's not smoke free- while we lived there, 2 separate apartments had smokers. It filtered through the hallways. We had to put damp dishcloths by the base of the front of the door to prevent the smell from entering our apartment. [less]
This place is awful, just like the previous comments. The landlord Roseann just collects checks and does not care about its tenants. I recommend you meet the landlord so you know exactly what you getting into also. John only shows the apartments during the day when the building is empty. Go after 6 pm so you can hear all the street noise and hear the noise from the neighbors. The building structure is garbage and you can hear everything. The air conditioners are weak and cant keep temperature in the summer. The hallways are a hot during the summer I had to buy additional air conditioner during the summer and electric bill was $250! Glad I left this place and dont recommend it
